Clinical Case: Successful Dental Restoration with Kiyomi
In the field of dentistry, the restoration of damaged or fractured teeth is a critical task. Each case presents unique challenges, and selecting the right materials is essential to ensure a durable and aesthetically pleasing outcome. In this clinical case, we present a 31-year-old patient who visited Kane Dental Clinic in Barcelona with a compromised dental structure following a fracture in a previous restoration. For this procedure, the Kane Clinic team relied on the effectiveness of Kiyomi Dental products, specifically the K-Bond+ Universal adhesive system and Dual Cem cement.
The patient and their dental challenge
The patient, a 31-year-old man, presented at Kane Dental Clinic with a complex dental situation. He had experienced a fracture in a previous restoration, resulting in significant compromise of the dental structure.
Dental Restoration Process
The process began by removing the carious tissue and preparing the affected area for restoration. The preparation was designed for a future indirect milled composite restoration, which would restore function to the damaged tooth.
Use of Kiyomi Dental Products
At this stage of the procedure, the crucial step of adhesive cementation was carried out. First, the dental substrate was prepared by sandblasting with 50-micron aluminum oxide. After careful rinsing, phosphoric acid was applied according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Next, the K-Bond Universal adhesive system, also from Kiyomi Dental, was applied to ensure a strong and durable bond.
Restoration and Implementation
The next stage involved conditioning the internal surface of the milled restoration, which included 50-micron sandblasting, followed by rinsing and drying. The K-Bond Universal adhesive system was then applied. Dual Cem cement from Kiyomi Dental was used to ensure the restoration remained securely in place.
The restoration was carefully positioned, and any excess cement was precisely removed through a brief two-second light-curing step. Full polymerization was then completed using a curing light on all surfaces to ensure a high degree of material conversion. Occlusion was adjusted, and the procedure was finalized with finishing and polishing of the interface between the restoration and the tooth, removing any excess and inhibited layer.
Resultado Exitoso
This clinical case highlights the successful restoration of a damaged tooth thanks to the collaboration between Dr. Gerardo Rodríguez from Kane Dental Clinic and Kiyomi Dental products. The choice of high-quality materials, such as the K-Bond Universal adhesive system and Dual Cem cement, was essential to achieve a durable and aesthetically pleasing result.
