Discover the Benefits of Aster Flow Fluid Composite by Kiyomi

In this article, we will share the main benefits of fluid composites, specifically Aster Flow, our microhybrid fluid composite with a 72% filler charge.

In the world of dentistry, the success of treatments not only depends on the professional but also on the quality of the materials used.

One of the most notable advancements in this field is fluid composites, a solution that has transformed how dental restorations are performed, thanks to their ability to provide aesthetic and durable results, while also facilitating the daily work of the dentist in the clinic.

In this article, we detail the benefits of fluid composites, especially those of Aster Flow, Kiyomi Dental’s microhybrid fluid composite with a 72% filler load.

Main Benefits of Aster Flow by Kiyomi

For dentists seeking precision, efficiency, and natural results, fluid composites have become an essential tool, offering versatility in their multiple uses and easily adapting to the cavity where they are applied.

This versatility makes them the best option for restoration procedures where reliable adhesion and high aesthetics must be combined. Moreover, their use not only improves the quality of treatments but also enhances clinical times, something crucial today.

In this context, Aster Flow by Kiyomi Dental meets all the requirements to be the fluid composite dentists can trust.

The main benefits of Aster Flow are:

  • It contains rheological properties within its formula that ensure precise and controlled application, guaranteeing full coverage of the applied area.

  • It offers excellent mechanical, physical, and functional properties, similar to conventional composites, but with the advantage of being fluid to facilitate its application. It is particularly suitable for minimally invasive restorations.

  • It stands out for its finish, which facilitates polishing and provides a unique shine.

  • It is radiopaque, allowing for clear visibility in post-treatment X-rays.

  • It has a high inorganic filler content, 72% filler.

Aster Flow offers versatility in your clinic. From small restorations to large cavity reconstructions, it can also be used as a sealant, a base for restorations, or to repair certain types of dental fractures.

Aster Flow: Low Polymerization Shrinkage

Another of its main advantages is the low and controlled polymerization shrinkage, similar to current composite resins, making it compatible with other light-curing composites like Aster, also by Kiyomi, or other market brands.

The graph shows the tension generated during the polymerization of different composites: Aster Flow (Kiyomi), another unnamed manufacturer’s Eco Flow (Ivoclar Vivadent), and Filtek Z350 Flow (3M Espe), demonstrating that they are statistically similar. Conventional composite resins exhibit shrinkage stresses in the range of 1.7 to 2.0 N. Therefore, Aster Flow behaves similarly to this category of composite.

Indications for Use of Aster Flow

It is especially recommended for minimally invasive restorations, such as a sealant for pits and fissures or for repairing composite fractures, provisional restorations, and enamel defects. This fluid composite is also indicated for:

  • Reinforcement and protection of the adhesive layer in resin coating-type sealing.
  • Provisional restorations.
  • Direct mock-ups (templates and carving guides).
  • Sealing access chimneys in implant crowns.
  • Creating mini Lucia JIGs for occlusal record taking.
  • Base or liner in direct restorations.
  • Class III and Class V restorations.
  • Deep cervical margin elevation (build-up).
  • Cementing dental micro-fragments.
  • Non-carious cervical lesions.

Aster Flow is available in 2-gram syringes in the following colors: A1, A2, A3, and B0.5.
