CLINICAL CASE: SUCCESSFUL CAVITY RESTORATION WITH KIYOMI PRODUCTS

Dr. Gerardo Rodríguez from Kane Dental Clinic presents a case of cavity restoration in a 26-year-old patient. This case highlights the use of quality materials, particularly our K-Bond+ Universal adhesive system and Kiyomi Dental’s Aster composite.

THE PATIENT AND HIS ISSUE:

Our 26-year-old patient presented with a cavity on the occlusal surface of tooth 3.6. Dental caries is a common problem, but with proper attention, the function and aesthetics of affected teeth can be restored.

THE CAVITY RESTORATION PROCESS:

Dr. Gerardo Rodríguez chose to use the K-Bond Universal adhesive system and Kiyomi Dental’s Aster composite to address this case. The restoration process was carried out meticulously and precisely.

K-Bond+ Universal: el adhesivo revolucionario
Photocurable universal adhesive system for enamel and dentin without color alterations in the final result.

PREPARATION:

First, the decayed tissue from the affected area was removed. This is essential to stop the progression of the caries and prepare the surface for restoration.

  • Application of phosphoric acid
Selective application of phosphoric acid was then applied only to the enamel surface. Subsequently, careful rinsing and drying were performed.
  • Adhesion
The application of K-Bond+ Universal adhesive followed, ensuring a strong bond between the tooth and the composite.
  • Composite placement
Incremental layers of 1.5 mm of Kiyomi Dental’s Aster composite were applied. This step is crucial for achieving a durable and aesthetically pleasing restoration.
  • Occlusion adjustment
Dr. Rodríguez ensured proper occlusion, ensuring that the patient can bite and chew comfortably.
  • Finishing and polishing
Finally, the restoration was finished and polished. This is essential for the restoration to look and feel like a natural tooth.
  • Final photopolymerization
The last layer was photopolymerized in an oxygen-free environment to remove any surface-inhibited layers from the material, ensuring an optimal restoration.

The result of this clinical case is a successful dental restoration that not only restores function to the affected tooth but also enhances the aesthetics of the patient’s smile.
