Aster+

Light-Cured Nanohybrid Restorative Composite

ASTER+ by Kiyomi Dental is a light-cured universal restorative composite available in three opacities, designed for anterior and posterior restorations. Its formulation combines innovative organic monomers with a high inorganic filler content, providing mechanical strength, stability and excellent polishability for functional and aesthetic restorations.

Its organic matrix is based on Bis-GMA, TEGDMA and EBPDMA monomers. The inorganic filler content is 73–78% by weight / 56–63% by volume, with particle sizes ranging from 50 to 200 nm. Its formulation incorporates an innovative filler (nano CF 2.0) consisting of fused nanoclusters of silicon dioxide (SiO₂) and zirconium oxide (ZrO₂) in a new spherical structure, designed to improve the material’s mechanical strength, handling and final finish.

Thanks to its excellent polishability, gloss retention and radiopacity, ASTER+ enables natural-looking restorations and makes them easy to identify during radiographic follow-up. It is available in different opacities and shades to suit a range of clinical situations.

Indicated for direct and indirect restorations in anterior and posterior teeth, core build-ups and dental splinting.

CLINICAL BENEFITS

ASTER+ by Kiyomi Dental combines mechanical strength, ease of handling and aesthetics in a universal restorative composite. Its formulation with inorganic filler and zirconia, together with low polymerisation shrinkage and excellent polishability, enables its use in a wide range of direct and indirect restorative procedures.

High mechanical strength

Its compressive strength of 321 MPa and flexural strength of 140 MPa support its use in restorations subjected to high functional loads.

Optimised inorganic filler content

Its inorganic filler accounts for 73–78% of the material’s weight and 56–63% of its volume. With particle sizes ranging from 50 to 200 nm, it offers a balance between strength and ease of finishing. Its innovative filler of zirconium oxide (ZrO₂) and silicon dioxide (SiO₂) nanoclusters helps improve compressive strength, facilitates handling and enables a high-gloss finish.

Excellent performance in contact with water

It has a water absorption of 17 µg/mm³ and a water solubility of 0.7 µg/mm³, supporting its stability in the oral environment, along with fluorescence similar to that of natural enamel. In addition, its filler of heat-fused nanoparticles, known as nanoclusters, facilitates handling and provides high mechanical strength and a high-gloss finish.

Long-Term Color Stability

Helps preserve the original color of the restoration over time, maintaining its aesthetic appearance and ensuring long-lasting, natural-looking results.

Long-lasting aesthetic finish

Its excellent polishability and gloss retention enable smooth, natural-looking surfaces with a long-lasting aesthetic finish, while its high radiopacity makes the restoration easy to identify and monitor during radiographic follow-up.
